Kokin is the latest venture from acclaimed chef Daisuke Shimoyama, known for redefining Modern Kaiseki in London. Rooted in Japanese tradition yet guided by modern sensibility, Kokin brings together fire, seasonality, and craftsmanship in an omakase-style dining experience. Located on the panoramic seventh floor in Stratford, the restaurant embodies its name — Kokin (古今), meaning “past and present” — a reflection of timeless heritage and contemporary expression.

Working closely with Zoe and the Kokin team ahead of the restaurant’s London debut, I designed and developed a website that captures this refined identity while providing a seamless reservation experience. Inspired by Kokin’s philosophy — where fire meets craft, and time converges — the site combines natural textures, deep tones, and warm highlights to mirror the restaurant’s understated elegance. The result is a refined and atmospheric digital presence that serves as both a visual extension of Kokin and an inviting gateway for guests.
